Working online whilst traveling the world sounds like a dream job for many people. But what exactly is a digital nomad? Pete and Supi live as digital nomads.
They travel the world permanently, work on the road and are always online. Their lives epitomize the digital revolution and how it is changing how we work live.
Many people dream of living and working on the road – a dream that has come true for Pete and Supi. Driven by a passion for travel, they set out to escape the dreary routine of everyday life. They want to achieve maximum self-fulfilment without big safety nets and full-cover insurance, in a nomadic world of adventure. Pete is a DJ, so parties and big cities are a defining part of his life, whereas Suparni aka Supi is the opposite; she’s looking for spirituality and awareness. The two show us the huge spectrum of opportunities that the world of the digital nomad has to offer. Despite their fundamental differences, they both earn their living by working remotely. The digital age has made this way of life possible: without the Internet, it would be almost unthinkable. But their lifestyle does have its limits, as is becoming especially evident to Suparni with her plans for parenthood. But it’s hard to find someone you love who also loves the same sort of lifestyle, and the constant travel is a big obstacle.

wish we could do this during covid
Why does her keyboard look fake and warped at 14:35?
Ah the white woman, Traveling, yoga and vegan food how original.
I work from home and can work in the US but I’m trying to travel countries lol
Thank you for covering this subject! I am currently housing challenged but I own an online business generating email leads for advertisers. I am working on building my business credit. While I am not comfortable, I am excited like I have never been excited in my life. Here's to digital nomad prosperity for the 2022! Gold, silver, crypto, land ownership(eventually) and growing my own food are the ultimate goals.
I think most nomads are stuck and afraid overseas now due to COVID some governments will kick out all non registered citizens
they aren't paying tax in any country, renting a cheap apartment or staying at a guesthouse and they are illegally working since they don't have work visa. they are just taking advantage of countries where they can stay without having any visa up to 90 days.
they don't pay into pension and obviously they don't earn even average wage in the country where they are from. do they have health insurance? probably travel insurance renewing every 90 days or so since they are not eligible for international health insurance for students and expat visa holders. very shallow documentary without covering the most important things such as visa etc. no country offers visa for what they call "digital nomad workers". some south east asian countries take strict measures for tourist visa applications because of these people. they are not welcomed as they earn little and spend little and pay no tax and everything, free riding.
life will get tougher as they age, and when they realize it, it is too late.
It would be nice if you could dig into different kinds of paperwork needed for this lifestyle
Pete = bum.
Unambitious, unmotivated, lazy people, who have no idea what to do with their lives. They feel good while living in dirty slum like environments (like Vietnam, Thailand, Bali, Phuket, etc), wearing dirty clothes. Probably having a series of mental health issues and substance addictions. This video didn't make the digital nomad lifestyle more appealing to me. Actually after seeing these people my impression is much worse than it was before. They will be living on my tax money when they will return to Europe in a few decades with no retirement savings… I love them…
As someone who likes to take risks (but carefully) and likes to keep things balanced by making gradual slow changes, I won't do this before:
1- owning a house or an apartment in my home country
2- having a reliable source of income like a job that pays well or a successful online business
and even if I achieved these goals I'll probably do it for 2-5 years because I think that being a digital nomad is some kind of journey (a long one) rather than a lifelong way of living
During this journey I will learn a lot, make a lot of friends, get to know a lot of different cultures, and most importantly make memories that will last forever but eventually, I think I'll still want to go HOME
Great documentary guys. Nice work everyone.
Would love to for DW to revisit the people in this doc in 2021 and how the pandemic shaped if at all their life style.
Hello, this is something I am very interested in. Could you guys please share some recommendations on how to start? Thank YOU!
If you are taking work to anywhere its office not vacation, its more mental than being physical at certain place
I can do this now. I’m thinking of moving to Peru for a few months. Perhaps Hungary also
This became even more true after March 2020.
is there any people here, who after nomading this way figured out, that quality of digital nomad results is not even close to what you can achieve working closely with your teammates?
I love my digital nomad lifestyle !
I stopped the video when he went for curry spices.
What's happened with her keyboard? 14:39
In my opinion, it's all fine as long as one is young, single and healthy. Remote job is great, I enjoy it a log but having no stable job, no even long-term rent is not for me. If this is a future, then it's dystopia at least for me. But if someone is happy all the best for those! Happiness is all about finding a way of life that fit us all. My dream is to have permanent position in a large company whereas freelancing and startups are my nightmare job situation as I crave for stability. But it all goes back to preferences, so good luck for digital nomads and safe travel.
14:40 what is wrong with that keyboard? I looks melted
Wonder how you Nomads are faring in this pandemic
Will someone help to get Amazon FBA clients
Digital Imperialists and culture vultures
MEH.. hippie entrepreneurs.. one of the most annoying groups of people
She seems to have confused social security with investment (14:49)
This is so interesting and fascinating! Watching this in 2021 and even though I can do my job remotely, I still have to follow a certain schedule and be online in a specific time zone, so I can't really go and travel as I like. I would really like to try a digital nomad lifestyle and travel while I work 100% online!
