The evolution of technology has totally changed the world we live in, but is it moving too fast? We built a timeline to find out!
Nowadays, it feels like every week another ground-breaking invention or idea is revealed. But how did we get here? In this video we’re going to look at the evolution of technology from the very beginning. We’ll go through some of the most influential devices and concepts that have led us to the techno-fuelled world we live in today. Our time travel journey starts pretty much when we did, before selfies, trolling, open-world gaming, and cheesy infographic videos, way back in 35,000 BC with the first recorded example of counting. It all began with a simple tally on a bone – the Lebombo bone. Talk about upcycling! More conveniently, Papyrus paper was invented in 3,000 BC for recording and the Abacus in 2,300 BC for sums. These had evolutions of their own for the next couple of millennia up to around 100 CE where they reached a state of how we know them today.
This was also the time Hindu Arabic numerals were developed, not the first characterised numbers but ones which allow complex mathematics. Jumping to the second millennia we have the development of the Torquetum – a complex analogue computer used to measure astronomical
coordinates and is the bases for all modern astronomical instruments.

Hi' UB.
"Yes mate, technocratic totalitarianism is on the horizon. It's going to move even faster, not a good thing."
3 years have passed and we haven't invented anything new.

Just over 100 years ago electricity was invented. Under 100 years ago the first computer. And now- I’m sitting in my car that can go 120mph and is considered old, on an “outdated” iPhone 10 which is a machine I can literally just say “hey Siri” to and ask her whatever and I’ll generally get a good answer and I have the worlds knowledge at my fingertips. Yet I continue to watch YouTube while I smoke weed and eat sour gummies. I’m glad there’s smart people out there doin machine stuff. I’ll be out cleaning up trash and adventuring nature and takin pics. Man humanity is weird.
Seems like technological progress is snowballing, getting faster as time goes on.
I think technology is what will send us back into the stone age. We depend on it so much that when something brings it down we won't be able to survive. Solar flare , comet strike, nuclear war ….anything that destroys the grid…will kill most people within 2 weeks. We have totally forgotten how to survive without it. The system is so fragile that you can bet at some point something will bring it down. We will go back to the stone age and start all over again
what I'm wondering is what makes us (opposed to other animals) so special? like how did our species just discover stuff and try to find improvements… is it just a lucky snowball effect? hard to grasp
"Are we going to fast " I think we are not going fast enough
I hope we get computer sex robots with human feeling skin.

The "Sofia" robot is not self-aware. Nowhere near. It runs in two modes. The first is a chatbot with speech recognition and generation. The second is simply script reading to create the illusion of intelligence.
