Very very nice work by the way
Cool story bro! Lmao!! One of your best vids, thanks man
That stacked magnet like that could work if you put a spider behind the magnet. It would fix the balance/rub issues but it would make the speak 24 inches deep. Lol. Maybe not such a great design to begin with.
Just tuned in but right off the bat that spider is tiny and the surround is small. Im sure you'll get it right.
One more thing if all subwoofers and speakers were built this way this much attention to detail that would be no more rebuilds unless somebody did not know how to properly play one of these good job.
That's a FI sub…. I'm surprised it was built that crappy
I want to build a 12 inch dual 2 ohm SQ subwoofer specifically for a sealed box. I like my bass rich, tight, and accurate.
Whats the rms on that sub
That speaker sounds like doo doo something is not correct not sure what.
I wanna see how they do
These subs now make sharks fall from the sky.
I'm so glad you make videos someone with your knowledge needs a platform because we can't all be your aprintace but with videos like this we are able to at least learn some of what you know
Clampy Mc clamps called and wants his clamps back
Fi Car audio has the WORST customer service EVER. They ignore all of my emails when I purchased a defective product from them (it was defective upon arrival voice coil rub/misaligned). I had to open a paypal claim because they wont email me back.
That motor looks like it was made by FI audio… Btw lol
Hey brother how do I get ahold of you?? I have a idea for a custom subwoofer and this subwoofer would most likely be the most powerful sub ever built in all sizes 8" 10" 12" 15" 18" 21" 24" ect.. iv been fooling around with a custom coil design and I deff wanna see someone build it n test it and see what it can do.. iv completely designed some monster looking subs and iv also custom designed one of a kind coils actually 3 deff styles.. and one of them I wanna know if someone is actually able to build it n see how well it works.. I know it should be insane and hold alot of power but a custom motor would have to be machined n built.. but anyway I wanted to see if your able to pull it off.. and if it does well maybe we can work some kind of business deal.. yeah the subs may not be cheap to make at first until it's perfected ect but I have a super strong gut feeling it will change the car audio world and this sub design I designed n wanting to build will be the loudest of it's size ect..
EMF ish lmfao love it
How much it costs?
Thats a FI audio Neo isnt it??? I had a 18" with a motor almost identical to that
What's the spray bottle after the glue?
I can learn a lot from you.
Dude that’s awesome
wonder how much Fi charged him to tell him to find another builder
Man I wished I had a quarter of the talent that you have. Very awesome video. Very interesting. Thanks for another great video…
Every single day. I am SO happy that America still has people here that build stuff right in our own backyard. I know it can be expensive. Sure. But each and every time I buy a tool, or item I know I'm going to have for the long run? Can't go wrong with a man or women who really knows their stuff & takes great pride, time and effort in what they do.
Watching this is like watching one of the masters of the kitchen make a great Desert. Its not just taste (or in this case sound) but its the artistry that goes behind it that makes it so much more fulfilling. Kind of like when a Barista makes art work with the creme' in your coffee.
You can tell he enjoys what he does and its more like a conversation at a Bar or BBQ rather then some forced or semi scripted Boogle about today's fish that is going to turn on the menu. It really is enjoyable to watch and listen too. I wish he would get a better Microphone like a Newman however. The Audio recording could use more air or space. It seems a bit compressed for my taste. Course, not many listen to this on a High end system. So I'm in the minority.
Again, thank you for the great content and its a pleasure to watch. Great way to relax after a long hard day.
Coffee in hand, and a cigar. What a wonderful way to wind down the evening.
You are a wizard of the audio arts…
i like watching your videos but it would be a nicer watch if ya just forget about the trolls i have 2 youtube channels on different screen names sadly i get the trolls to you must stop feeding them it would make the video more enjoyable most will go away after awile of them not getting a rise out of you. thanks for sharing
Ok, I have a complaint, you make it look to damn easy. I suppose after hundred n hundreds it is but not for my big handed self. Thanks for the brain food
That's a good amount of neo on there. It's a shame the motor force isn't what it should be.
I totally agree on the threadlocker I hate using that and I hate working on something that had that used on it
31:00 No complaints on the soldering job, but you said it's not possible to soak solder all the way through without a torch. Now, I do not know what's the heat tolerance of the spider and such, but if you have a big enough iron with enough heat capacity, it's no problem to soak solder all the way through those thick wires. Does it matter? Maybe, maybe not. But the way you solder them obviously works well enough, and thats what matters. 🙂
Thanks for all of the knowledge you give out on this channel, much needed in this industry.
So Sean question for ya, when it comes to adhesives and subwoofers, for the most part is it the bigger the gob the better the job or a little dab will do ya?? Within reason of course.
One of, prototypes that never make production, and homemade gear may not fly in many competition organizations. I'd read the rule books before trying to take something like that into the lanes.
I don't know if there is a reason you don't use flux. I have had a good experience with Amtech flux. It makes soldering much easier!
Is this an FI BTL Neo? Why didn't you tell us who made the woofer? Also how come you don't like direct connect subs?
Can you add more magnets to make the coil taller and can adding a thicker surround and a thicker spider increase the amount of excursion the subwoofer has when building a subwoofer
I've seen those neo motors before.. In the "For the Love of Bass" group on Facebook
What is the point or ease to sobering cables to the leads? I like push terminals makes things seem more quality.
I wanted to ask u a question that im sure u have been asked so many times before or maybe not either way i have Tremendous respect for you I think your a genius so ur opinion truly matters to me in ur opinion if u had the choice what would u consider to be the best SUBWOOFER out there i know ur really busy so if i don't hear from u i truly understand and thank u.
I have no complaints I love your work buddy
Where are you located
ULTRA informative! Makes me want to rebuild a sub now…. maybe my brothers blown jl w10? V3? from when we were younger. Would at least put a smile on his face as a surprise.
First time subscriber from New Jersey I really like the way that you rebuild the subwoofer to your specifications♡♡ I have some American Bass 10 inch subwoofers in one of my videos and was wondering if they do go one day if there is a recone kit possible.. might send you the work or might attempt it myself I specialize in electrical Diagnostics and a little bit OCD on things..♡♡♡ Tom from new Jersey stay safe and healthy..SPL can't get us sick just people… going to check out your other videos♡♡♡
