Thank you again! I got the hot press picked out you recommend, almost got enough saved! Hope I can do this!

So let me get this right.
1. Go to a graphic designer
2. Get free consultation
3. Let them draw (even if they can’t) an image and be creative.
4. Don’t pay them for the work.
5. Don’t expect to pay $500-$1k.

Got it. //Savage//
I bet you feel the same about logo design right?

Thanks so much for doing your part to flood the market with absolute crap. And also for taking jobs away from legitimate artists. Quite inspirational.

Thank you so much for this information. I am so nervous about doing this, but my motto is do it scared. I appreciate your wisdom.

Before I share my idea to the freelancer(graphic designer) on the website; what kind of protection should I have? Do I need to trademark or copyright my idea before I share with them?
Thank you for the video; is very helpful.

Hello Cartes. I saw a video a long time back about a software that all you have to do is add text to image. The images were things like baseball teams and schools.

Great video! What are your thoughts about selling t-shirts online? I was thinking of using Zazzle or Cafepress.

Hey! How do I protect my design work from being passed on further? i.e. how do I ensure that the designer does not sell my artwork and design to someone else?

In what form does the finished product get to me or how would I get my design in plastisol transfer paper form to press t-shirt, once the artist is paid?

Cartess is right. I am a graphic designer on Elance, and I have had a sudden flow of people asking for tshirt designs. I found out they were selling them on Teespring…thousands at a time. I got $20 for 4 simple designs because I know Illustrator like the back of my hand. Always get vector graphics, and if you can, have certain areas transparent to use the color of the tshirt as the color. 1 color designs are much cheaper to print and you make more money.  This guy knows his stuff.

How do you get the contract to the graphic designer to sign?

We highly recommend screen printed transfers. If you are having your design screen printed you will not have to worry about cutting around the design, etc. All you need to do is press the design directly onto the shirt using heat press machine.

We recommend screen printed transfers with screen printed transfers you do not have to cut around the design. It's not required. When printing designs from a printer you have to. Which is not something we recommend. Screen printed transfers are highly recommended!
