Really cool videos. Just curious What do you do with all the computers you build? Is there a shop, raffle, or auction??? Do you donate or maybe sell??? Honestly wouldn't mind an older build built by linus!

So we’re going to act like COD games weren’t good games back then.

The i5 3570k was actually my 2012 CPU too! Albeit with a GTX 660 instead of a HD 7970. I also had 16GB of DDR3 instead of 8GB.

Gotta love how almost all of these top of the line rigs are cheaper than a high end GPU in Canada

all these old games are the sorta thing i just wanna run at max graphics and i'm happy to be honest. i almost never play a game that's less than 5 years old

Shit I'm still on an i7-3820 from 2012 w/ GTX 1070 (3070 en route.) I still play basically everything at 60fps max at 1080p, not counting RDR2.
I want to upgrade my rig so badly, but until prices come WAY down, I can't justify the cost when my rig is already giving me solid 60fps at 1080p as it stands.

I've been REALLY pleased with how much life I've gotten out of this rig. I built it with a really forward thinking mindset. I wanted 8 threads minimum, 40PCIe Lanes for upgrade options down the road, minimum 16GB ram (just put another 16 in cuz I found a matching set for cheap a couple weeks ago.)

Everyone else I know that built a 2500k/2700k or 3500k/3700k in the same timeframe has already had to upgrade because their rigs weren't keeping up. Because I looked ahead to DX12 and Vulkan and made a few really solid predictions (games will be more multi-threaded, 8 gigs isn't enough, give myself upgrade options, etc), I haven't needed to upgrade anything but my GPU from a 680 to 1070 (storage options notwithstanding). But, I should have a 3070 this Tuesday night (amazing fellow veteran is hooking me up with one for free, I'm incredibly grateful)! Should help me limp this rig another 2 or 3 years and hopefully some prices will start to come down around then. You never know, if prices don't come down we might see graphics in games plateau a bit to keep a solid playerbase size during shortages, and I might get even more than that.
